The power of our language

Today I am sharing with you a wonderful video (2m51s) of an incredible young lady called Amy Brockerstette.

I have watched this over and over.

Amy perfectly demonstrates the power of our language and the way we speak to ourselves.

Here is the story:

Amy got the opportunity to meet her hero, professional golfer, and US open winner Gary Woodland.

Gary invited her to play the famous 16th hole at TPC Scottsdale in front of a large crowd and it became a big news story. Coach Chris Dorris originally this video, and I would like to share it with you.

Chris counted the number of times Amy said “Yes!” It was twenty-three. She also said twenty other positive words and phrases such as “I can do this”.

This was a powerful learning for Gary (and all of us).

Also, what came from this was the ‘I got this’ foundation, created to provide golfing opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities.

Click here to watch this short video. I hope you find it as incredible and moving to watch as I did.
